A shocking outcome of civil protection interventions during the year 2025 – New Algeria

During the year 2025, the Civil Protection Services recorded an initial toll of more than 1,200,000 interventions across the various states of the country, as part of their daily tasks aimed at protecting lives and property.

The toll included traffic accidents, suffocation and gas poisoning, in addition to drowning incidents during the summer season.

In traffic accidents, more than 82,000 interventions were recorded, resulting in the treatment of more than 89,000 injured people and more than 2,000 deaths.

Regarding incidents of suffocation, gas poisoning, and carbon monoxide gas, the Civil Protection Services carried out 930 interventions, during which 2,196 people were treated, and 130 deaths were recorded.

While 76,759 drowning incidents were recorded at beaches and water bodies of various types during the summer season, resulting in 53,228 missing persons and 261 deaths.

According to a statement by the Civil Protection Services, these numbers reflect the scale of the challenges faced by the Civil Protection Services, and in return emphasize the importance of adhering to prevention and safety rules, especially in the field of traffic, the safe use of heating and gas devices, as well as respecting safety procedures while swimming.

In the same context, the Civil Protection Services renew their call to all citizens to be aware and cautious, and to immediately report any danger, in order to preserve lives and property.
