A phone call between Zelensky, Trump, and European leaders about peace in Ukraine – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Ukrainian presidency announced, on Monday, the end of telephone talks that brought together Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump with European leaders to discuss the latest peace proposal in Ukraine.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the call lasted for more than an hour, and the leaders of Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Norway participated.
Along with the Secretary General of NATO and the President of the European Commission, to discuss “concrete steps” to end the war.
In turn, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the progress achieved during the conversation,
Emphasizing Europe’s readiness to continue working with Ukraine and American partners to enhance this progress, with a focus on providing strong security guarantees from day one.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office stressed Britain’s commitment to “working closely with partners to maintain momentum over the coming days.”
Noting that European leaders praised Trump for the progress made, and reaffirmed the need to end the war as quickly as possible.
In the same context, French President Emmanuel Macron wrote that “progress has been achieved in the security guarantees necessary to achieve peace in Ukraine.”
He added that in early January, Paris will host a meeting of the coalition countries to put the final touches on each country’s contributions to the process.
