A new qualitative step in the process of modernizing urban transport in Algeria

The urban transportation sector in Algeria is witnessing a qualitative step in its modernization and modernization process, through the integration of modern and more sustainable means of transportation that keep pace with environmental transformations and the requirements of urban development. In this context, a new batch of buses was delivered to the “Etoza” Foundation.
The Ministry of the Interior, Local Governments and Transport explained, in a statement, that within the framework of implementing the program of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, related to the renewal of the national transport park with 10,000 buses, and under the supervision of the Minister of the Interior, Local Governments and Transport, Said Saioud, a new batch of buses was delivered to the benefit of the “Itosa” Foundation, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry, the Director-General of Mobility and Logistics, the President and Director-General of the “Transtev” complex, and the Director of Transport and Transportation for the state. Algeria, the General Director of the “Itosa” Foundation, and the General Director of the “TVE TVC” Foundation, in addition to the executives and workers of the Foundation.
This process consisted of receiving 100 new buses of the “Tersam” brand (with a capacity of 70 and 100 passengers) as a first batch, in addition to two environmentally friendly electric buses of the “Funser” type, as part of a model experiment to promote clean transportation.
It is expected that these buses will enter into actual service starting today, Thursday, March 19, 2026, across the various lines of the corporation’s network, thus contributing to improving citizens’ transportation conditions and enhancing the quality of public service.
This support represents a qualitative step within the process of modernizing and modernizing urban transport, through the integration of modern and more sustainable means of transport that keep pace with environmental transformations and the requirements of urban development.
