A ministerial meeting to prepare for the Eid al-Fitr holiday and ensure market stability – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Sunday in Algiers, the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Control, Amal Abdel Latif, chaired a coordination meeting with the regional directors of trade, with the aim of putting the final touches on preparations for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, according to a ministry statement.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the central administration, where the Minister listened to reports presented by the regional directors on the measures taken to ensure that the market is supplied with basic consumer goods, in addition to the merchant continuity program at the level of all states, with a focus on bakeries, food stores, and necessary services.

In this context, the Minister stressed the importance of field presence and monitoring the progress of the maintenance system to ensure the normal continuity of commercial activity during and after the Eid holiday. She also appreciated the “spirit of responsibility” shown by merchants in accompanying consumers during holidays and events.

The Minister stressed the need to enhance awareness by using the “Marafiq.com” electronic application, which provides consumers with a reliable digital guide that helps them easily identify regular merchants. It also called for spreading the culture of reporting among citizens to ensure the transparency of services.

Regarding the wholesale markets for vegetables and fruits, Amal Abdel Latif issued instructions to the “Magro” company on the necessity of ensuring the opening of all regional markets and providing appropriate regulatory conditions throughout the Eid al-Fitr holiday, in order to ensure stable supply and meet market needs.
