A ministerial landing in Tindouf to inspect the readiness of the western mining line

The Minister of the Interior, Local Governments and Transport, Said Saioud, accompanied by the Minister of State, the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Installations, Abdelkader Glaoui, the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Houria Madahi (ministerial posting), and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Hydrocarbons in charge of Mines, Karima Bakir Tafer, along with the Director-General of National Security and the Director-General of Civil Protection, made a working visit to the state. Tindouf, to determine the readiness of the western mining line Bashar Tindouf Gara Jbeilat.

This ministerial transfer to the state of Tindouf comes within the framework of preparations for the entry into exploitation of the western mining line.

Two weeks ago, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Installations, Abdelkader Glaoui, in the state of Tindouf, inspected some of the new train stations being completed within the framework of the Western Mining Railway Project, which covers the states of Béchar, Beni Abbes and Tindouf.

Minister Glaoui reviewed the progress of the works in the completion workshops of the Umm Al-Assal station, where the works have reached their final stages, before the ministerial delegation moved on board a railway locomotive designated for technical experiments from the Umm Al-Assal station to the Tindouf station.

The project director of the western mine line of the Bashar-Ghar Jbeilat railway, Bin Al-Rabie Abdel Shafie, confirmed in a statement to the media that the technical experiments for this strategic project reflect the progress achieved in the completion works thanks to the combined efforts of national competencies.

The official explained that the operation included a route estimated at 950 km, noting that the project works are proceeding at an accelerated pace across the various sections, ensuring the full extension of the railway from Bashar towards Ghar Jbeilat.

He also highlighted that 22 km of technical installations had been completed, in addition to the completion of seven railway stations extending from Abadla to Hamakir, passing through Belbala, Hassi Khabi, Oum Al Assal, and Tindouf station, as well as Ghar Jbeilat station.
