A high-level Namibian delegation visits Algeria to enhance cooperation in the hydrocarbons sector – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Namibia and Head of the Upstream Oil Unit, Lucia Whitbo, will embark on a working visit to Algeria at the head of a high-level delegation from the hydrocarbons, energy and minerals sectors, during the period from 22 to 28 February 2026.

The visit aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and learn about the Algerian experience in the oil and gas industry, as part of continuing consultations and coordination between the two countries. The delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with the Minister of State and the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, in addition to technical meetings with officials of sector institutions and bodies to discuss ways to develop cooperation and exchange experiences.

The visit program includes organizing field tours to Algerian energy facilities, to enable the delegation to follow the various episodes of the value chain in the hydrocarbons sector, from exploration and production to refining, gas liquefaction and transportation, in addition to visiting the Algerian Petroleum Institute to learn about Algeria’s experience in training, capacity building and technical management.

This visit reflects the joint will of the two countries to raise relations to the level of a strategic partnership based on concrete projects and executive work programs, in a way that enhances African integration and supports the path of sustainable development on the continent.
