A comprehensive awareness campaign to protect from sunlight

On Tuesday, the comprehensive awareness campaign on sun protection, organized by the Scientific Association of Pharmacy Students in Algeria (ASEPA) as part of its public health activities.

This initiative seeks to achieve several strategic goals in the field of preventive health, as it focuses on raising awareness of the dangers caused by excessive exposure to sunlight, especially sunburn and premature aging of the skin, as it aims to educate citizens about the harmful effects of UV rays on the skin and encourage the adoption of effective preventive behaviors.

The targeted preventive behaviors include the regular use of sun protection creams, wearing appropriate clothes, sunglasses and protective hats. The campaign also seeks to consolidate the culture of sustainable prevention, especially among young people and groups most vulnerable to risk.

The program started with an awareness day at the Garden City Commercial Center, where shoppers and visitors were able to obtain useful information about the methods of sun protection, and the events moved to the Riyadh beach, the tennis club and the port of Sidi Faraj, which are areas for citizens for entertainment and water sports, which makes them an ideal location to spread awareness messages among people most vulnerable to direct sunlight.

It concluded with a sports and awareness day in the Azur Beach, where the event combined entertainment sports activities and health awareness messages, in an initiative aimed at linking health to the active and safe lifestyle.

This initiative comes from an association that includes students specializing in pharmacy, which gives scientific credibility to the information provided to the public. The association called on all citizens to participate in the campaign activities and benefit from the advice and instructions provided by specialists. It also encourages the application of preventive behaviors in daily life, especially during peak hours of UV rays.
