Opening of the exhibition on the history of printing the Holy Qur’an… and a large turnout of visitors – New Algeria

It was launched today, under the supervision of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Dr. Youssef Belmehdiat the Islamic Cultural Center, the activities of the exhibition on the history of printing the Holy Qur’an in Algeria, organized by the Ministry, within the framework of highlighting the care for the Book of God Almighty and the keenness to print, publish, and distribute it inside and outside the country.
As stated in Statement from the MinistryThis presentation aims to introduce the process of printing the Holy Qur’an in Algeria and highlight the efforts made throughout the various historical stages to serve KoranThe exhibition includes multiple examples of editions of the Noble Qur’an that the Ministry has been honored to print since the dawn of independence, in addition to displaying a number of Qur’an editions dating back to previous periods, including ancient Qur’anic manuscripts that reflect the ancient care for the Book of God throughout the ages.
The exhibition also includes a display of various printed Qur’ans under the patronage of… presidentAbdel Majeed Tebboune, with the various Arabic scripts adopted in writing the Holy Qur’an, such as the simple script and the Naskh script, in addition to examples of the Qur’an recited in the voices of Algerian reciters, which make it easier for readers to learn the rules of recitation and intonation.

The exhibition also dedicates a pavilion to display the Algerian Qur’an in Braille, directed to the blind, in a step that reflects the Ministry’s keenness to enable various segments of society to read and benefit from the Holy Qur’an.

This cultural event provides visitors with the opportunity to learn closely about the stages of development of the printing of the Holy Qur’an in Algeria, and to see the scientific and artistic efforts that have been made to control its holy text in accordance with the approved rules, in order to preserve the integrity of the Holy Qur’an and the accuracy of its printing.

The exhibition was well received by visitors who flocked to it in large numbers from different age groups, young and old, and on the occasion free copies of the Holy Qur’an were distributed to the attendees.

This wide turnout reflects the extent of Algerians’ attachment to the Book of God Almighty and their connection to it in recitation, memorization and contemplation, which embodies the distinguished position that the Holy Qur’an occupies in the conscience of Algerian society.
