The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement: “In implementation of the instructions of the Supreme Command of the People’s National Army regarding providing security and tranquility, especially during this holy month, and the continuation of field operations in the fight against terrorism, and thanks to the optimal exploitation of information obtained by the army’s security services.”
The statement added, “Last night, Thursday, joint detachments of the People’s National Army were able, following an ambush in the territory of the military sector of Tebessa in the Fifth Military Region, to eliminate 4 terrorists and recover 4 Kalashnikov machine pistols and a significant amount of ammunition and other items.”
This operation was in addition to the specific operation carried out on March 1, 2026 in the Zedine Forest in the Ain Defla Military Sector in the First Military Region, which led to the elimination of terrorists and the recovery of two Kalashnikov machine guns and a quantity of ammunition.
The statement concluded by saying that these two operations carried out during this blessed month always confirm the vigilance and determination of the People’s National Army units to track down the remains of these criminals in all circumstances and occasions until their final elimination.
The Ministry of National Defense had revealed in its four-day statement that it had arrested 4 members of support for terrorist groups, while a terrorist surrendered himself to the military authorities. 29 drug dealers were also arrested and attempts to bring in more than 4 quintals of drugs coming from Morocco were thwarted.
The Ministry of National Defense explained, in a statement on Wednesday, that as part of the fight against terrorism, the terrorist named “D.B.,” nicknamed “Musab,” surrendered himself to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and was in possession of a Kalashnikov submachine gun, a quantity of ammunition, and other items. In the same context, and within the framework of combating organized crime, detachments of the People’s National Army, in coordination with the joint security services, arrested 29 drug dealers, and thwarted attempts to bring 4 quintals and 38 kilograms of processed kif across the border with Morocco, and 1,061,685 hallucinogenic tablets were also seized.
