In a televised speech on Thursday evening, Al-Houthi stressed the group’s support for the Iranian people and their leadership, considering that what he described as “the American-Israeli aggression” against Iran targets the entire region, as he put it.

He pointed out that the group sees any attack on Iran as a “war on Islam and Muslims,” stressing that their position requires standing by Tehran in the face of what he called the nation’s enemies.

In the context of his speech, Al-Houthi also reiterated the centrality of the Palestinian issue, noting the group’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and defending Islamic sanctities, most notably Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Ansar Allah group currently controls large parts of the north, center and west Yemen.
