An agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Security to digitize some consular services – New Algeria

Today, March 12, was signed at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Convention decrees between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, local authorities and transport, represented by the General Directorate of National Security, aiming to strengthen cooperation in the field of Digitization Some consular services.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the national community abroad, Mr. Sufyan Shayeb, and the agreement was signed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounas Mokarman, and the Director-General of National Security, Ali Badawi.

During his speech on this occasion, the Secretary-General stressed that this agreement constitutes a new building block in the process of modernizing consular services, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs places among its priorities, taking into account the special importance that the President of the Republic attaches to our community abroad as an integral component of the Algerian nation. This is a dimension that received special attention within the framework of the symposium for heads of consular posts held in February 2026, from which several relevant recommendations emerged.

On the other hand, this agreement aims to accelerate the processing times for consular services, by adopting a new digital system in line with the national strategy for digital transformation.
