Sullivan: The Trump administration has no clear plan for the Strait of Hormuz crisis – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Former US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan criticized President Donald Trump, saying that his administration lacks a clear strategy for reopening the Strait of Hormuz after it was closed by Iran following the US-Israeli attack on it.
Sullivan said that Tehran’s threat to navigation in the strait and cutting off energy supplies was expected from the beginning, noting that the American administration, about two weeks after the outbreak of the war, still does not have a clear vision of how to end the crisis or determine what constitutes success in it.
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital passage through which about 20% of global oil exports pass, and its closure led to a rise in gasoline prices in the United States to an average of $3.57 per gallon, according to data from the American Automobile Association.
Navigation data also showed that more than 150 ships remained stuck in the strait since its closure in early March, while three ships were attacked by unknown projectiles, resulting in the loss of three crew members of a Thai cargo ship.
