A terrorist surrenders himself in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and the army thwarts attempts to smuggle drugs and weapons – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of National Defense announced that the terrorist “DB,” nicknamed “Musab,” handed himself over to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar, where he was in possession of a Kalashnikov submachine gun, a quantity of ammunition, and other items.

Army forces were also able to arrest 4 members of support for terrorist groups in separate security operations across the country. In the Tamanrasset sector, the authorities seized a Kalashnikov machine gun and seven RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenades, along with other equipment.

Regarding the fight against drugs, security forces were able to thwart attempts to smuggle 4 quintals and 38 kilograms of processed kif across the border with Morocco, in addition to arresting 29 drug dealers. Also, 1,061,685 hallucinogenic tablets were seized in separate operations.

On the other hand, the army services thwarted attempts at illegal gold prospecting, as quantities of gold ore and stones were seized, in addition to prospecting tools, with the arrest of 212 people in different areas. 43 vehicles, 77 generators, 47 hammers and 3 metal detectors were also seized.

In the field of illegal immigration, 122 people who attempted to migrate via traditional boats were rescued, while 475 illegal immigrants of multiple nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
