Appointment of Kamal Oukassi as Director General of the National Bureau of Statistics – New Algeria

Set up Prime Minister, Seifi GharibOn Tuesday, Kamal Oqassi was appointed Director General of the National Bureau of Statistics.

Professor Kamal Oukassi holds a doctorate in economic sciences and has served as a research professor at the Faculty of Economic, Commercial and Management Sciences at the University of Bejaia.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister stressed the need to renew the vision for the statistics system, in line with the directives of the President of the Republic, as this system must be integrated with modern technologies to produce, process and use statistics.

He also highlighted the need for a regional organization of the national statistical system and its interoperability to ensure the optimal use of data in implementing public policies.
