The National Bureau of Meteorology announced in a bulletin, on Tuesday, heavy snowfall, heavy thunderstorms, and strong winds in many states of the country.
Meteorology reported, in a level two alert on the vigilance map, that the thickness of snow ranged between 5 and 15 centimetres, at heights exceeding 1,000 and 1,100 metres, starting from six in the evening until three o’clock in the afternoon this Wednesday, in each of the states of Bashar, Saida, Tiaret, El Bayadh, Tissemsilt, and Laghouat.
The bulletin also allocated another level two alert for snowfall on slopes above 1,000 and 1,100 metres, with snow thickness ranging between 10 and 20 centimeters in each of the states of Tlemcen, Naama and Sidi Bel Abbes.
The bulletin is valid from midday on Tuesday until midday on Wednesday.
On the other hand, the Bureau announced heavy thunderstorm rain falling between 20 and 40 mm, and it is expected to reach 50 mm in all of Bashar Province, starting from nine o’clock at night until eleven o’clock at night.
In the same context, the interests of the National Meteorological Office expect thunderstorms to fall in each of the states of Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea and Blida, where the expected amount of rain ranges between 20 and 40 mm, starting from three o’clock after noon until three o’clock in the morning tomorrow, Wednesday.
On the other hand, the National Meteorological Office warned of wind blowing in both the states of Bashar and Beni Abbas, starting from six in the morning until six in the morning this Wednesday.
