Algerian women remain a model of heroism and sacrifice

The Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Said Saioud, stressed that “March 8 is not just a date on the calendar, but rather a global symbolic milestone to honor women and celebrate their struggle and multiple contributions in various fields of life,” highlighting that Algerian women remain a model of heroism and sacrifice.

This came during his supervision of a ceremony honoring women of national security and pioneering women in various fields, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 of each year.

During this ceremony, which was hosted by the Ali Tounsi Police Higher School, on Saturday evening in Algiers, women who demonstrated their competence in their professional path were honored, including female mujahideen, ministers, high-ranking officers, and employees of the National Security Service and the Joint Corps, as well as executives from several sectors, in addition to female media professionals.

Saioud stressed in a speech he delivered on this occasion that “Algerian women remain a model of heroism and sacrifice, as they have written bright pages throughout history in the process of liberation and state building, and have immortalized the names of pioneering feminists who created the glory of Algeria and established the values ​​of loyalty to the homeland.”

Saioud also highlighted “the pioneering role played by Algerian women today in the path of construction and development, as they have proven their distinguished presence in various sectors, including regular institutions, most notably the National Security Service, which includes 20,833 women who perform their duties professionally and competently in various security and leadership specializations.”

In the same context, he added, “Women have been able to hold leadership and responsible positions, and have contributed efficiently and competently to enhancing security and community service, in addition to their fundamental role in building the family and consolidating national values.”

The Minister pointed out that “this progress achieved by Algerian women reflects the sound vision and continued support given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to Algerian women, by opening broader horizons for female competencies and enabling them to hold the highest positions and actively participate in national decision-making.”

For his part, the Director General of National Security, Ali Badawi, said in a speech read on his behalf by Police Governor Souhaila Hamel, that “Algerian women remain a model of heroism and sacrifice, as they have written honorable pages throughout history in defending the nation and preserving its sovereignty, alongside the men who created the glory of Algeria,” stressing that this “reflects the special care that the President of the Republic attaches to raising the status of women and enabling them to hold positions of responsibility and actively participate in serving the nation.”
