President Tebboune sent a message on the occasion of International Women’s Day, stressing Algeria’s pride in Algerian women, noting that today they record the highest presence in the government since independence.
In this context, the President of the Republic said, “At this stage, we are moving towards consecrating women’s right to fully integrate into the movement of current transformations towards building the modern state, and you and I celebrate International Women’s Day on this 8th of March in a new and victorious Algeria, and join the women of the world in perpetuating the struggles for women’s liberation.”
The President of the Republic added, in the text of the message, “In this blessed country, you are descendants of resistance fighters… martyrs… fighters whose careers have marked them… and their memory has spread across the horizons as a symbol of the spirit of sacrifice for the sake of the nation’s survival.”
He continued by saying, “You are the heirs to the honor and glory of Fatma Nsoumer… and Djamila Bouhired… and the many good women whose names are preserved in our collective memory with reverence and greatness… Zubaida Ould Kabilah, Meriem Bouatura, Djamila Bouazza, Houria Toubal, Djamila Boubacha, Louisa Iguil Ahriz, Zahra Drif Bitat, and all the female fighters, resistance fighters and martyrs… and those who carried their national spirit from The steadfast women are martyrs of national duty, teachers, doctors, journalists, and rural women who patiently and courageously endured the tragedies of extremism and terrorism. They all stood proudly and proudly during the days of great adversity. They were at the heart of the front facing the dangers of undermining the state and its institutions.
President Tebboune affirmed that “Algeria is a true citizen state, which we are building with you and with your integration into all the programs that we have embarked upon. We have opened the doors wide to enhance the role of women in the national project, especially through their assuming the highest responsibilities, jobs and ranks. Algerian women today record the highest presence in the government since independence… and in elected councils… constitutional institutions and regulatory bodies… and all areas of economic activity, including women’s entrepreneurship and family programmes.” Productive… and in the sectors of national education, judiciary and health… and in this perspective, I have always shown great keenness to follow up on our directives to the government, to enhance women’s empowerment and achieve the constitutionally enshrined principle of parity.”
He continued, “On this occasion, I would like to conclude by expressing my pride and satisfaction with what the daughters of this redeemed nation have achieved in terms of creativity, innovation, and excellence in thought, culture, art, and sports. I express the Algerian people’s pride in the fact that women in our country preserve our cultural heritage and the ancient, authentic traditions of our society, which are guarded by nannies and educators for the rising generations in school and within the Algerian family.
