A military plane crashes in Boufarik, killing two crew members – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Ministry of National Defense announced today, Thursday, that a small Beechcraft 1900 military transport plane crashed immediately after taking off from the runway of the Boufarik Air Base of the First Military Region.

The Ministry’s statement explained that the plane was on a programmed mission with a crew of six on board. The accident resulted in the death of two crew members and the wounding of four others with varying severity. They were transferred to the Central Army Hospital in Ain Naadja to receive treatment.

Following the accident, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, extended his sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the two martyrs, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

He also ordered the opening of an investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of this accident.
