The Ministry of National Defense published in a statement, on Wednesday, the weekly operational outcome of the People’s National Army during the period extending from February 25 to March 3, 2026 across the entire national territory, in which it achieved qualitative results in the field of combating terrorism and combating organized crime.
The same statement stated that, in the field of combating terrorism, “detachments from the People’s National Army were able to eliminate two (2) terrorists in Ain Defla in the first military region and recover two (2) Kalashnikov-type machine guns and a quantity of ammunition.”
Other detachments of the People’s National Army also arrested elements supporting terrorist groups, during separate operations across the national territory.
The same source explained that, in the field of combating organized crime, “37 drug dealers were arrested and attempts to bring (5) quintals and (22) kilograms of processed kif across the border with Morocco were thwarted,” and (1,174,080) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.
The same statement indicated that detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (325) people and seized (42) vehicles, (229) electric generators, (138) pressure hammers, and (4) metal detectors, in addition to quantities of a mixture of gold ore, stones, and equipment used in illegal gold prospecting operations in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, and In Guazzam.
(15) other people were also arrested, and (1) submachine gun, (1) automatic pistol, (5) hunting rifles, (39,710) liters of fuel, (22) quintals of tobacco, and (21) tons of food materials destined for smuggling were seized, during separate operations, according to the statement.
Coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (108) people who were on board traditional-made boats, and (81) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.
