The Algerian Red Crescent launches a major awareness-raising campaign to prevent drugs – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Algerian Red Crescent launched a major national awareness-raising campaign to prevent the scourge of drugs and the dangers of addiction to them, in addition to raising awareness about diabetes and ways to prevent it, across the various states of the country, within the framework of preserving public health and promoting a culture of prevention within society.
This campaign comes in light of the health and social specialness of the month of Ramadan, where the need arises to adopt healthy eating behaviors and a balanced lifestyle, especially for diabetics, while intensifying awareness-raising efforts to protect the youth group from the dangers of addiction and social ills that threaten the safety of society.
Algerian Red Crescent volunteers will work through its state and municipal committees to organize field trips and awareness campaigns affecting public spaces, residential neighborhoods, youth institutions, as well as restaurants and feeding areas for fasting people across the entire national territory, by providing health advice and preventive guidance on proper nutrition during the month of Ramadan, and the importance of early detection and regular medical follow-up.
The campaign also includes conducting blood sugar measurements for the benefit of citizens, distributing awareness brochures, and organizing awareness-raising meetings with the participation of specialists in the health and social fields, with the aim of spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and its health, psychological and social repercussions, and promoting a culture of prevention and individual responsibility.
This initiative embodies the Algerian Red Crescent’s commitment to its humanitarian role in accompanying the citizen during the holy month of Ramadan, by combining solidarity work and preventive activity, in order to preserve the health of the individual and the safety of society.
In this context, the Algerian Red Crescent called on all citizens, restaurant owners and local partners to actively participate in the success of this national campaign and to contribute to spreading the culture of health awareness, in a way that reflects the values ​​of solidarity and interdependence that characterize the holy month.
