Algeria Cup: CS Belouizdad and CS Constantine are two sides of the first semi-final – New Algeria

The organizers of the first match of the semi-finals of the Algerian Football Cup have been identified, and it concerns the teams of Chabab Belouizdad and Chabab Constantine.

Qualify The teams of CS Belouizdad and CS Constantine reached the semi-finals of the Algerian Football Cup, following their victory, yesterday evening, Tuesday, against MC Algiers and JS Bejaia, respectively, for the quarter-finals of the competition.

At the “Nelson Mandela” stadium in Baraki (Algiers), in a “marathon” match, the Belouizdad youth managed to win a pass to the “Golden Square” at the expense of their neighbors and rivals. MC Algeriaafter resorting to extra time (3-2) after the match ended in a draw in its original time (first half 1-1, second half 2-2).

Al-Shabab was the first to open the scoring thanks to its Tunisian striker, Mohamed Ali Ben Hamouda, in the 17th minute, with a wonderful header after an accurate pass from his colleague Hussein Ben Ayada.

Mouloudia then threw its full weight into the attack and was able to adjust the score through defender Ayoub Ghazala from a penalty kick in the 29th minute, after Al-Shabab defender Shuaib Kaddad touched the ball with his hand inside the operations area.

The people of Al-Aqiba entered the second stage with full determination, and only one minute passed for the international left back, Noufal Khasif, to give his team the lead by scoring the second goal in the 46th minute with a wonderful shot, benefiting from a smart pass from his colleague Abdel Rahman Meziane.

“Al-Siyarbi” continued this match with ten players after the striker, Abdelnour Belhousini, was sent off in (80th minute) after the referee returned to the Video Assistant Arbitration (VAR) technology, to confirm the rough obstruction against the Mouloudia player, Sofiane Bayazid.

The changes made by South African coach Rulani Mokoena to Mouloudia Al Assima yielded results, as the substitute Guinean striker, Saliou Bangura, was able to adjust the score in the last moments (90th minute), deceiving Al-Shabab’s defense and goalkeeper Farid Chaal, so that the confrontation ended in a draw (2-2) in its original time.

CS Belouizdad won its qualification in extra time

The first extra half witnessed a strong comeback for the sons of Laaqiba, by scoring the third goal through his defender Youssef Laaoufi in the 100th minute, taking advantage of poor oversight from the “Al-Ameed” defense, thus giving his team the qualification card to the semi-finals.

Thus, Al-Shabab has extended its control over Mouloudia during the last three years in the “Al-Sayyeda” Cup competition, after defeating them in the 2024 final (1-0), then in the 16th round of the 2025 edition with the same result (1-0).

In the other match of the quarter-finals, which took place at the Chahid Hamalaoui Stadium in Constantine, the youth of Constantine won the qualification ticket with great difficulty at the expense of the guest, JS Bejaia, active in the inter-regional championship (Central-East), in the last moments of the match with a score of 1-0.

After the “Bejawi” youth team managed to hold out for a hundred minutes, during which the locals sweated coldly, they received the only goal from the center of the “Constantine” youth field, Mohamed Ben Shaira, in the minute (90 + 10) via a penalty kick, after obstructing his colleague, the leader Ibrahim Dhib.

Thus, the people of “Yama Qoraya” leave this popular competition with their heads held high, after they almost “uprooted” the qualification from “Al-Siyasi” had they not missed some opportunities.

It is known that Chabab Club previously won the cup in 2008, and also competed in the 2019 final and lost it to CS Belouizdad (0-2), unlike the “Smurfs” who have never won this title, as their best result was reaching the semi-finals of the 2024 edition.

The quarter-finals continue today, Wednesday

The quarter-finals will continue on Wednesday evening, with two more confrontations, one of which will be a major summit between two clubs from the first league, and it will be the Algerian Union against the guest, JS Saoura (at 22:00) at the “July 05, 1962” stadium in the capital, in a hot and interesting dialogue, especially since the South-Western squad had won against Al-Ittihad in the round-trip tournament with Bechar (1-0) and in Algiers. (2-1).

The Saoura players will work to confirm their psychological superiority, while Al-Asami seeks revenge for the two defeats, continuing their journey in the competition and retaining the cup.

As for the other match, it will bring together two clubs from the Second Amateur League, namely Chabab Batna, leader of the Central-East group, and Mouloudia Saida, 11th place in the “Central-West” group, at 22:00 at the “First of November 1954” stadium in Batna.

Al-Cape, which has won four victories during its last five matches, benefits from the advantage of speculation, as it is playing the match on its home soil and in front of its fans, without forgetting the factor of surprise that often occurs in such cases, and for which the “Saeedians” will present.

Thus, CS Belouizdad will set a date with CS Constantine in the “Golden Square”, while the two qualifiers from today’s matches, Wednesday, will meet in the next round. The two confrontations will take place on Tuesday, April 7th.
