The women’s national team wins over Egypt

The first women’s national team defeated its Egyptian counterpart by three goals to two, in the friendly match hosted by the Egyptian national team training center in Cairo, on Monday evening.

Melina Doria opened the scoring for Algeria in the 33rd minute, while the local team adjusted the score four minutes later, ending the first half in a draw.

The Egyptian women were able to gain the advantage at the start of the second half, before Enas Boutaleb equalized in the 61st minute.

Enas Khairy decided the match for the Desert Warriors by scoring the third goal in the 74th minute.

Coach Farid Ben Stiti’s squad traveled to Egypt, in order to complete its preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations finals scheduled to be held in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026.

The Greens women previously beat the Egyptian women by three clean goals, last Saturday, when they faced each other on the same field.

The national team has been camping at the Sidi Moussa Center since February 24, where the technical director summoned 28 players.

The census will resume its preparations for the continental event on Tuesday, with the delegation’s return to the homeland, until March 7.

It is noteworthy that the process of drawing the draw for the finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations resulted in the national team falling into the first group alongside the host country, Senegal and Kenya.

The Algerian women will begin their campaign against the Senegalese national team on March 17.

While they clash with the Moroccan national team in the “Maghrebi” derby, on March 20.

The group stage will conclude with a match against Kenya on March 23.

The latest developments from within the Confederation of African Football paper indicate the possibility of postponing the date of the continental competition due to the refusal of the organizing country to hold it on the specified date.
