In July 2025, the Algerian Football Federation created a special committee entrusted with the task of proposing a new competition system, within the framework of reforms that the federal body seeks to embody. This committee was headed by the President of the Professional Football League, Mohamed Amin Maslouj.
This system proposes, among a number of measures, the creation of a new regional association in the city of Tamanrasset. This is in addition to redistributing some state associations and attaching them to regional associations.

– Second League: One group that includes 18 clubs
– Third League: Two groups, each containing 18 clubs

– Pre-Honorary Division: A number of groups, each group includes at least 6 clubs.
