The Ministry of Education announces the extension of the period for expressing wishes

The Ministry of National Education announced, on Sunday, the extension of the period for expressing initial wishes within the processes of directing and redirecting students for the academic year 2025-2026 until Saturday, March 14, with the aim of providing an additional opportunity for parents of students to confirm their children’s wishes or modify them when necessary.
The statement of the Ministry of National Education stated, “With regard to extending the period for expressing initial wishes for advance guidance after the expiry of the period specified for the stage of expressing initial wishes within the two processes of directing and redirecting students for the academic year 2025-2026, especially with regard to directing fourth-year middle school students and students of the two combined trunks for the first year of general and technological secondary education, with the intention of providing an additional opportunity for parents of students who were unable to complete this procedure, and out of its keenness to accompany parents and students in various Stages of the Guidance Process The Ministry of National Education informs that it has been decided to extend the period for expressing initial wishes and arranging them through the guardians’ accounts in the guardians’ space within the Ministry’s information system, available via the link: https://awlyaa.education.dz.
Accordingly, “the Ministry calls on the parents of the students concerned to take advantage of this extension in order to confirm their children’s wishes or amend them when necessary, in a way that ensures the good progress of the subsequent guidance stages according to the specified schedule,” the statement adds.
On the other hand, the Ministry of National Education had warned of repeated absences of students, especially the final sections of secondary schools, during the holy month of Ramadan, announcing that it was taking deterrent and firm measures.
In this context, I stressed the need to strictly follow up on the absences of students and teachers, especially students in the final sections of secondary schools, as well as teachers, and to activate the legal and regulatory texts in this regard.
It was stated in a correspondence sent by the Ministry to the directors of education for implementation, as well as the directors of secondary schools for implementation, that “the field inspection related to the attendance of students in educational institutions, especially students in the final sections of secondary schools, revealed unjustified absences, during the second semester, especially at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, and this affects the level of their academic achievement and their readiness for the baccalaureate exam.”
The Ministry confirmed that the subjects of the baccalaureate examination tests are among the lessons scheduled to be completed in the department, and scheduled in the study programmes, calling for continuous monitoring of students’ studies and taking appropriate measures to reduce unjustified absences.
