Preserving a unified Algeria is an essential pillar for enhancing its stability

The National Construction Movement confirmed that the anniversary of February 27, 1962 constitutes a national station for sacrifice and political awareness aware of the nature of the challenges facing the nation. It has also become an exemplary image of the strength of the home front supporting the national position and choice, highlighting that preserving a unified Algeria is an essential pillar for enhancing its stability.

The movement added in a statement on the occasion of the twenty-seventh anniversary of February 1962, that the latter is a prominent milestone in the history of Algeria and its liberation revolution, when the residents of Ouargla and the regions of southern Algeria expressed their firm adherence to one homeland and one Algeria, and their rejection of any project aimed at separating the Algerian desert from its national extension.

She added that the popular demonstrations were evidence of awareness and patriotism that France realized in a delicate political circumstance that coincided with the course of the negotiations that led to the Evian Agreements, which gave the Algerian negotiators great power to strengthen and establish the principle of full sovereignty over the entire national territory.

The movement’s statement said: “Hence, the anniversary of February 27 has become a national station for sacrifice and political awareness aware of the nature of the challenges facing the nation. It has also come to embody a model image of the strength of the home front supporting the national position and choice.”

She also said that “commemorating this anniversary today represents an opportunity to remember the contributions of the regions of southern Algeria to the path of national liberation, which confirms that Algeria’s unity and independence were the result of dear awareness and sacrifices that included various parts of the country.” This occasion also reminds us that preserving a united Algeria will remain the symbol of sincere patriotism and an essential pillar for the development of the state and the strengthening of its stability.

In this context, the National Construction Movement stressed the need to value this historical station by including it in the national memory in an institutional manner, whether through educational programs or official events, in a way that ensures that its meanings are transferred to the rising generations to consolidate the values ​​of belonging and national responsibility in their souls.

It also called on all the people of the country to continue sacrificing for the sake of our country and our people, a sacrifice that requires strengthening our internal cohesion, preserving Algeria’s territorial integrity, defending its institutions, and serving the highest interest of our nation.
