Minister of Communication, Zouhair Bouamama, revealed the importance of strengthening and strengthening national media spaces to preserve Algeria’s interests, which are exposed to “disinformation campaigns and falsification of facts.”
During a public session in the National People’s Assembly devoted to oral questions yesterday, the minister explained that in the face of digital encroachment and rapid transformations, it has become urgent to enhance and strengthen media spaces “in order to preserve the national social fabric and the interests of the country and confront the media misinformation and falsification campaigns launched by some parties.”
In this context, he also stressed the need to “prepare a strategy based on a comprehensive approach to provide a suitable environment that enables citizens to access reliable news in a timely manner in order to block the way for those who are disturbed by the strong return of Algeria as a pivotal country in the region.”
In the same context, the Minister praised the efforts of media professionals in targeting media misinformation campaigns, calling for “supporting media institutions and accompanying them to provide services with a level of professionalism.”
