The Minister of Mujahideen and People of Rights, Abdelmalek Tachrift, confirmed that the demonstrations of February 27 in Ouargla constituted a full-fledged popular epic, in which they practically confirmed that the Sahara was and will remain an integral part of one unified Algeria.
On Thursday, at the National Center for Studies and Research in the Popular Resistance, the National Movement, and the Revolution of November 1, 1954, Tashrift supervised the opening of the activities of the historical symposium commemorating the sixty-fourth anniversary of the popular demonstrations in Ouargla, which coincided with February 27, 1962, under the title: “The demonstrations of February 27, 1962, a popular uprising in support of national unity.”
The Minister affirmed that the February 27 demonstrations constituted a full-fledged popular epic, in which the will of a nation that believed in the justice of its cause and adhered to its legitimate right to freedom and sovereignty was evident, clearly expressing its rally around the leadership of the revolution and the National Liberation Front, and its sacred adherence to the unity of the national territory from north to south, and from east to west, adding that this popular outburst was a practical confirmation that the Sahara was and will remain an integral part of one unified Algeria.
The Minister also highlighted that commemorating this anniversary is an occasion to value the efforts made by the state, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to upgrade the regions of the Greater South and to embody balanced development that responds to their various structural, social and economic needs, in fulfillment of the message of the martyrs, and to preserve the trust they left on our necks.
The Minister prayed with reverence and reverence for the souls of the martyrs of the demonstrations of February 27, 1962, and for all the righteous martyrs of Algeria who watered the wealth of this pure nation with their pure blood.
