The Ministry of Education tightens control over the absences of students and teachers – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

She called Ministry of National Education To strictly implement legal procedures for the absences of students and teachers, with a special focus on final-year sections, stressing that unjustified absences directly affect academic achievement and the readiness of candidates for the baccalaureate exam.
It was stated in an official correspondence addressed to the directors of education for implementation and the directors of secondary schools for implementation that the field inspections during the second semester, especially at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, recorded a decline in the attendance of students in the final sections, which had a negative impact on the pace of completion of the academic programmes.
Baccalaureate lessons are completed within the departments
The Ministry confirmed that the topics of the baccalaureate exam are based exclusively on the lessons programmed and completed within the departments.
This requires ensuring the attendance of students and following up on their studies regularly, while taking appropriate measures to reduce unjustified absences.
Strict instructions for administration and professors
The guardianship stressed the need to closely monitor the absences of students and teachers alike, while activating the applicable legal and regulatory texts.
It also called on teachers to continue providing the scheduled lessons regardless of the number of students attending.
It is mandatory to write them down in text books, in order to maintain the normal course of lessons and ensure the completion of programs within their specified deadlines.
