Important announcement from Sonelgaz – New Algeria

The distribution directorates in Algiers, affiliated with the Algerian Electricity and Gas Distribution Company “Sonelgaz-Tawsee,” launched a campaign to collect the national identification number for its customers.

According to the Sonelgaz-Tawzee statement, this campaign falls within the framework of the process of updating their administrative data.

The Harrach Electricity and Gas Distribution Directorate explained that this process falls within a “modern regulatory vision.”

This campaign also aims to “enhance the accuracy of customer information, establish a reliable and updated database, and secure various contractual procedures. This contributes to supporting the reliability and quality of the service and supports the digital transformation path that Sonelgaz is adopting in its various structures.”

Sonelgaz – Harrach Distribution confirmed its “full commitment to protecting customers’ personal data and ensuring that it is processed in complete confidentiality. This is in accordance with what is stipulated in Law No. 18-07 relating to the protection of natural persons in the field of processing data of a personal nature.”

The statement added, “The National Identification Number (NIN) is used exclusively for administrative purposes, as it is stored within a secured information system.”

The Directorate called on its customers to go to commercial agencies accompanied by a valid national ID card.

Meanwhile, “Sonelgaz – Polygon Distribution” highlighted in a statement the importance of this process, which aims to “ensure the accuracy of the customer’s identity and secure transactions and contracts with sustainable improvement in the quality and reliability of services.”

After she pointed out that the national identification number “is used exclusively for administrative purposes, as it is stored in safe and protected ways and can only be accessed by legally authorized entities and bodies.”

The Directorate also called for a positive response to this campaign because of its “direct impact in simplifying procedures, accelerating transactions and enhancing the level of security. This is in order to improve the quality of public service within the framework of modern digital management that puts the customer at the heart of its priorities.”

While the “Sonelgaz – Sidi Abdullah Distribution” Directorate confirmed, in a statement, that the national identification number represents a pivotal tool in the communication process between the unified government portal and the various services provided to the customer.

She added that the national identification number will allow Sonelgaz to improve the management of customer relations by adopting a unified coding that includes all consumer addresses, which contributes to providing a better and more effective commercial service.

The Directorate stated its full commitment to strictly respecting the provisions of Law 18-07 and Supplementary Law 25-11 relating to the protection of personal data.

The Directorate indicated that the campaign is carried out through snippets sent to customers to include the national identification number, as well as the phone number, as a preliminary step to launching the notification service via SMS.

The reliable database will enable various notifications to be sent to the customer, such as invoices, payment deadlines, programmed outages, service-related developments, and other information.
