The Ministry of Health activates a new mechanism to appoint senior executives – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The central committee charged with studying nomination files for senior positions in the health and population directorates and public health institutions has officially begun its work, in a step aimed at establishing transparency and strengthening the governance of the sector, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health, today, Wednesday.

The statement explained that this process comes in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Health, Muhammad Siddiq Ait Masoudaneaiming to consolidate the principles of objectivity and transparency in assuming senior responsibilities, as the committee was installed on January 6, 2026.

The committee, established by the Minister of Health, is headed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, and its membership includes the Inspector General and a number of general directors, in addition to the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Organization, Disputes and Cooperation.

The authority will study the candidates’ files according to a precise standard evaluation grid, with the aim of selecting the most appropriate competencies to assume senior positions at the level of health directorates for states and public institutions, while providing opportunities to promote local competencies, which contributes to raising the effectiveness of management and improving the performance of the public health facility.

This step falls within the Ministry’s endeavor to enhance professionalism in administration, improve administrative efficiency, and improve the quality of health services provided to citizens.
