Tyson faces Mayweather in an exhibition fight

World boxing legend, American Mike Tyson, refuses to leave the ring despite more than twenty years having passed since his retirement.

American journalist Mike Coppinger, a specialist in the sport of the noble art, pointed out that the representatives of Tyson and retired world champion Floyd Mayweather; They agreed to hold an exhibition fight in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on April 25.

Coppinger revealed that negotiations between the two parties began last September.

It seems that Tyson and Mayweather want to repeat the historic fight known as “Rumble in the Jungle,” which brought together the two legends Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.

The boxers met in 1974, in the Congolese capital (then Zaire), Kinshasa, on a ring placed on top of the May 20 Stadium.

The victory then returned to Muhammad Ali Clay, who won the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council belts.

Tyson (59 years old) stepped into the ring for the last time, during an exhibition confrontation against American content creator Jake Paul (29 years old) in Texas a year and a half ago.

Tyson lost by unanimous decision of the judges. A fight in which he appeared tired and incapable after eight rounds.

“Iron Mike” retired from boxing in 2005. After a busy career that witnessed him achieving fifty victories (44 by knockout) and losing six fights.

Like Tyson, Mayweather is also ranked as one of the greatest boxers of all time due to his exceptional track record.

Floyd won five world championships in five different weight divisions, and was undefeated throughout his professional career, which spanned fifty fights.

Mayweather’s clash with the Irish mixed martial arts star, Conor McGregor, is one of the most famous exhibition fights he fought and which he won in his favor.

Organizers of noble art fights are planning similar dates, which generate millions of dollars and receive unparalleled media coverage.
