In a post on his official Facebook page, the parliamentarian for Timimoun state, Naqaz Muhammad Al-Salem, reviewed the details of the meeting that brought together the representatives of the states of Bashar and Beni Abbas with the Minister of National Education, Muhammad Al-Saghir Saadawi, which was devoted to discussing the most prominent concerns of the education sector and the challenges facing the educational system in the states of the south.
Among the files that were raised for discussion, as the MP revealed, was the possibility of returning to the “Southern Baccalaureate” mechanism, and adopting continuous timing in the summer, due to the high temperatures and difficulties in school transportation, in addition to the demand to provide better capabilities for independent candidates and to accompany students to prove their level.
The representatives also raised the teachers’ concerns about participating in the mobility movement, while demanding the cancellation of the electronic form and the problems it caused, in addition to the recorded lack of supervision (supervisors and managers), and the pending supervisors’ file, while emphasizing the necessity of finding a fair solution that guarantees their integration..
The issue of adapted positions for those suffering from health difficulties was also raised in the discussion, with a call for activating the specialized sectoral committee to adjudicate these cases fairly, in addition to emphasizing the right of children on the autism spectrum and people of determination to appropriate educational care that guarantees their integration within institutions. The representatives stressed the need to improve the working conditions of teachers, especially with regard to transportation, housing, and professional protection, while highlighting the role that parents’ associations can play in supporting the educational system, describing in the end the meeting that brought together The representatives called the minister “fruitful” and “serious” and reflected a common interest in serving the Algerian school locally and regionally.
