These are the working hours of educational institutions during Ramadan

The Ministry of National Education announced, on Monday, the timings that will operate in all educational institutions across the country during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 2026.

The ministry’s statement said: “Based on the telegram of the General Directorate of Public Service and Administrative Reform No. 02 dated February 16, 2026, the Ministry of National Education informs that working hours in educational institutions during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH (2026 AD) will be from eight thirty (8:30) in the morning until three (15:00) in the evening in all regions of the country.”

In detail – the statement adds – it was decided that for primary schools that operate on a single-shift system, the morning period will be reduced by forty-five (45 minutes) and the evening period will be reduced by half an hour (30 minutes), and between these two periods students will benefit from a rest of one hour and fifteen minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes).

As for primary schools that operate in a double shift system, the morning period of two hours and thirty minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) is reduced to one hour and forty-five minutes (1 hour and 45 minutes), and the evening period of two hours (2 hours) is reduced to one hour and thirty minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes).

For Tuesday, the period of four and a half hours (4 hours and 30 minutes) is reduced to three hours and fifteen minutes (3 hours and 15 minutes). For Thursdays for the first and second years of primary school, both the first period and the second period are reduced by half an hour (30 minutes).

Regarding the intermediate education stage and the general and technological secondary education stage, the Ministry of National Education decided to reduce the duration of the one-hour educational session by fifteen minutes (15 minutes), and the school day is organized into two periods, each period containing four (4) classes, and a thirty-minute (30 minute) break separates the morning and evening classes, according to the same statement.
