A new batch of imported buses lands at the port of Algiers – New Algeria

Today, Thursday, the Port of Algiers received a shipment of 868 new buses of various types, as part of the embodiment of the program to import 10,000 buses destined to renew the national passenger transport hub.

This operation falls within a national program aimed at modernizing the mass transport fleet and improving the quality of services provided to citizens, with the personal follow-up of Lieutenant General, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army.

The shipment was received by the Military Industries Directorate of the Ministry of National Defense from the Chinese partner, under the supervision of the Automotive Industries Development Corporation, within the framework of implementing the stages of the planned program to strengthen the transportation sector with new buses that meet the approved technical standards.

Receipts will continue in batches, until the total number is reached, which contributes to improving means of transportation and ensuring the comfort of travelers in all states of the country.

As a reminder, the Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Said Saioud, confirmed that the distribution of imported buses will begin gradually in major cities such as the capital, Oran, Sidi Bel Abbes, Constantine and Annaba. The next stage will include four additional states in the east of the country, and it is expected that the problem of bus transportation will be completely resolved by the end of next March.
