In anticipation of the month of Ramadan.. Belmehdi receives the imams delegated to the diaspora – New Algeria

The Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youssef Belmehdi, confirmed today, Thursday, that the mission of the imams delegated to lead the worshipers in Tarawih prayers in the diaspora has a religious and cultural dimension, and efforts have been combined to ensure its success in the best circumstances, stressing the importance of the role that these imams play in strengthening religious and cultural ties with the national community, according to a statement by the ministry.
According to the statement, this came during the minister’s reception, at the ministry’s headquarters, of imams delegated from several countries, as part of the ongoing preparations to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.
The dispatch of these imams also comes in response to requests and suggestions submitted by Islamic associations and centers through Algerian embassies and Algerian diplomatic representations abroad, from Italy, Britain, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Hungary and Spain, in addition to Canada, which reflects the keenness of the national community and all Muslims to be linked to their national religious authority during the holy month.
This meeting was an occasion during which the Minister issued a number of directives, stressing that this mission has a religious and civilizational dimension, in which efforts were combined to ensure its success in the best circumstances.
