Calling on merchants to avoid fraud and overpricing during Ramadan – New Algeria

In a statement, the Fatwa Committee of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments called on merchants to be honest and avoid all forms of fraud and overpricing, stressing the necessity of consolidating the values of solidarity and social solidarity, especially as the holy month of Ramadan approaches.
Based on the statement of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, today, Tuesday, it was clarified that it is permissible to pay Zakat al-Fitr in cash, with an emphasis on the necessity of adhering to the official times specified by Sharia, to avoid any confusion or violation of the approved provisions.
The committee also urged people with proven medical excuses to take advantage of breakfast permits, in order to preserve their health. In the same context, it warned drivers against recklessness and failure to respect traffic safety rules, as this poses serious risks to lives.
At the conclusion of its statement, the members of the Fatwa Committee blessed the President of the Republic’s inauguration of the Gara Jbeilat mine and the railway project in the West, considering these strategic projects as a national gain that enhances economic development and supports national sovereignty.
