Towards the inclusion of taxi drivers within the category of “self-contractors” – New Algeria

Today, Tuesday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Emerging Enterprises and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Waheed, received the National Union of Taxi Transporters SNTT_UGTA.

According to the Ministry’s statement, this meeting was devoted to discussing ways and mechanisms to integrate taxi drivers into the category of self-contractors to benefit from various benefits (reduction in taxes and social security) and to benefit from a basic law for the profession of taxi drivers, in addition to discussing the prospects for digitizing the public service and keeping pace with the technological development witnessed by the sector, in line with state policy and the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The meeting was fruitful, as the Minister appreciated the sincere will of the National Union SNTT_UGTA to engage in the path of modernization and modernization, stressing in the same context that the ministry’s doors will remain open to all proposals that would serve the nation and the citizen and develop the taxi transport sector.
