The Naval Forces Command in the Western Waterfront in the Second Military Region organized a demonstration exercise entitled “Aiding a Ship in Danger and Combating Marine Pollution.”
The exercise comes in implementation of international treaties related to combating marine hydrocarbon pollution.
The exercise also came in accordance with the regional obligations assigned to Algeria as an active party in protecting the marine environment on the western side of the Mediterranean Sea, especially given its vital location and availability of several major oil ports and strategic maritime shipping areas.
It is noteworthy that the implementation of this exercise was supervised by Major General Commander of the Western Waterfront, in the presence of representatives from various relevant ministerial sectors, in addition to foreign observers within the framework of the bilateral multilateral military cooperation program for the year 2026.
