The Ministry of Defense reveals the army’s statistics for the month of January – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Monday, the Ministry of National Defense issued a statement revealing the operational outcome for the month of January 2026, recording broad successes in combating terrorism, organized crime, and illegal immigration.

The outcome stated that the operational units were able to arrest 30 members supporting terrorist groups, and 1,111 people in the context of combating illegal immigration, in addition to 180 drug dealers and 1,644 illegal immigrants of different nationalities.

19 firearms were also recovered, and 129 vehicles of various types were seized, in addition to the seizure of large quantities of prohibited materials, including 27.55 quintals of processed kif, 55.88 kilograms of cocaine, 2,870,418 hallucinogenic tablets, and 10,122 units of alcoholic beverages.

The toll also highlighted the seizure of illegal equipment and supplies, including 39 metal detectors, 799 hammers, and 1,196 electric generators, as part of the army’s efforts to enhance national security and maintain the country’s stability.
