The President of the Republic receives a delegation from FIFA and receives a model of the 2026 World Cup – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received yesterday at the Mouradiya Palace a delegation from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), led by former German international Jurgen Klinsmann, as part of the promotional tour for the 2026 World Cup model, in which Algeria will participate.

This reception was attended by a number of Algerian football legends, led by Rabah Madjer, Lakhdar Belloumi, Saleh Assad, Ali Ben Sheikh, along with Mohamed Maouch, one of the symbols of the Liberation Front team, where they exchanged conversations with the President of the Republic and took souvenir photos on the occasion.

The FIFA delegation also included three players from the national team, namely Luca Zidane, Ibrahim Maza and Zinedine Belaid, while Jurgen Klinsmann, the 1990 world champion, presented a miniature model of the World Cup to the President of the Republic.

The arrival of the World Cup model in Algeria comes about four months before the start of the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to be organized in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico, as part of the global tour organized by FIFA to introduce the largest football event.

It is expected that the World Cup model will be displayed to the fans, starting this Monday morning, in the Oval Hall of the Mohamed Boudiaf complex, from nine in the morning until eight in the evening, and an official ceremony will be held, on the evening of the same day, at the El Eurasian Hotel, in the presence of sports and political figures.

Football fans will also have the opportunity to take souvenir photos with the trophy statue in the Experimental Park in Hamma, a new stop on his global tour.

It is noteworthy that the World Cup model previously visited Algeria in 2009 and 2013, and its current tour included several international capitals, including Riyadh, Tokyo, Vienna, Seoul, New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur and Cairo, and will continue its tour through 22 other countries during the coming months.
