Tebboune: The UAE wanted to interfere in the elections, and Paris is inciting European countries against Algeria – the new Algeria

Yesterday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, spoke in his regular meeting with the media about a number of issues and files related to local and economic affairs and developments at the Arab and international levels. As usual, his statements were not devoid of messages directed at home and abroad, all centered around the state’s directions in the next stage.
andAt the beginning of the dialogue, which lasted more than an hour and a half, the President talked about his inauguration of a railway line to Tindouf and the Gara Jbeilat mine, saying, “It is difficult to express the feeling that I had at that moment, because what we fought in order to achieve the dream is considered a battle, and when we read what is written on major international websites, it gives us an accurate view of the importance of this project on the global level,” stressing that “Algeria is a country of miracles, and everyone who tries “Questioning the country’s intentions and the country’s rich national journey will ultimately lead to the losers, because I am aware of the region’s difficulty. After I graduated from the Higher School of Administration, I was appointed as an official in Saoura and Tindouf, as these regions were suffering from great isolation.”
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed that “the inauguration of the Gaara Jbeilat-Tindouf-Bashar mining line and the entry into exploitation of the Gaara Jbeilat mine represent only the beginning of a project that will end with the railway from the countries of Hadba and Tebessa all the way to Annaba, a stage that it has repeatedly pledged to since the year 2024,” stressing that “Algeria will once and for all overcome the backwardness in which we were from the beginning of colonialism until independence until We will be among the emerging countries through an ambitious economic plan based on exploiting mines and converting them locally and not exporting them as raw materials, expanding railway projects and exploiting everything that exists in the areas that these projects will include.” He concluded by saying in this context: “I will not rest my mind until the sector reaches Tamanrasset.”
We will stop importing iron within two years
In the context of his talk about the Tamanrasset train, the President explained that “if things go according to what was planned, the Tamanrasset-Algeria railway line will enter into operation in late 2028.” As for linking the north with Adrar, President Tebboune said that “the project will be implemented in late 2026 and the beginning of the first semester of 2027,” noting in this context that “everyone who tries to question the The railway line’s profitability and efficiency will ultimately be one of the losers, as this line is not only intended for transporting iron ore, but also for breaking the isolation of the region and its residents, as it provides about 18,000 job opportunities.” He added, “The type of iron extracted from the Gara Jbeilat mine, which is the third largest mine in the world with a reserve of 3.5 billion tons of iron, is considered a high-end type, and its exploitation saves Algeria a lot. We import approximately $1.5 billion annually, but during the next three years at most, we may completely stop importing iron ore, enter the hard currency economy, and switch to exporting iron ore for construction, sheet metal, etc., in order to compensate for part of the income.” Hydrocarbons,” and the President reiterated that “the Gara Jbeilat project represents the beginning of the journey for an emerging country, while the second step is to extract lead and zinc from the Amisour Valley, and the start of digging the “Tala Hamza” mine will be in late March, and there are other projects for copper and tanextan.
Reaching $400 billion in strong income by the end of 2027
In this regard, the President explained that “the phosphate will arrive at the port of Annaba at the end of the year 2026, and that this will actually take place at the beginning of the year 2027 within the framework of implementing major mining and logistical projects,” explaining that “the benefits of the railway project are not limited to iron only, but its implications will include several other sectors, including phosphate, in a way that enhances the connection of national wealth to ports and export outlets.”
These projects would enhance the revenues of the public treasury, according to the President of the Republic, who said: “His country may be able, by the end of next year 2027, to reach $400 billion in the country’s raw output, and gradually liberate the economy from hydrocarbon revenues. He pointed out that the country’s exports outside of hydrocarbons are gradually developing and have reached five billion dollars,” describing that as a miracle, “because before 2020 we did not exceed 1.5 billion dollars in exports,” he added, adding that inflation reached less than 2 percent after it was around 11 percent in 2020. “This is a good thing compared to other countries, as a result of the state’s control over the prices of food supplies.”
In the context of his talk about these projects, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced Algeria’s intention to benefit from a financial loan from the African Bank, to finance the railway project, noting that his country will raise its gross domestic product to the range of 400 billion dollars by the end of 2027. Tebboune said that Algeria is considering borrowing a loan worth three billion US dollars from the African Bank, as it is a founding member and shareholder in the bank, to be repaid within about 13 years..
The loan will be directed to the completion of the railway line linking the Al-Munaia region in the middle of the desert to Ain Salah and Tamanrasset, in the far south of the country, at a total financial cost estimated at 20 billion dollars. Tebboune stressed that “this loan is without the burden of borrowing, and does not affect the budget or the sovereign positions of Algeria,” adding that the railway line, which extends over a distance of two thousand kilometers, will allow Algeria to exploit the mining wealth in the south, in addition to stimulating the movement of trade towards the coastal countries, and facilitating the movement of passengers, trade, goods and goods. He said: “If things go as we hope, at the end of 2028, passengers will be able to take the train from Tamanrasset towards Algiers.”“.
A new social support policy
Regarding the current trend towards reconsidering social support, President Tebboune revealed the decision to form a national committee that includes a group of political parties and unions that will be responsible for developing a clear decision to reorganize the direction of social support and achieve social justice, noting that “conditions are not yet favorable in order to achieve a balance between the rich and the poor, but with digitalization it is possible to reach a real direction for support, and we may begin to gradually lift support for one, two, or three items until we fight waste.”
The president said, “By the end of 2026, we may finish digitizing all data about the situation of citizens, and we will then begin implementing a new support policy. We will not take any action in this field without forming a national committee of parties and unions to express their opinion on the issue.”
The UAE threatens us with resorting to international arbitration
On the external level, President Tebboune attacked the United Arab Emirates without mentioning it. The president said in a press interview broadcast on state television that “Algeria’s relations with the countries of the Arab region are good, unlike a state rather than a state that wanted to interfere in the first and then the second presidential elections.”
Tebboune added that the Emiratis are “threatening us with international arbitration,” referring to the government’s decision to cancel some partnerships and investment agreements with the Emirates, such as the tobacco company, the ports of Algeria, and the vehicle manufacturing company affiliated with the army. President Tebboune addressed Abu Dhabi, saying: “You should not make us regret the day we met you. We seek to be a state of stability, and we intend good for everyone, but whoever intends evil for us will fall into it.” He continued that Algeria has “good relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and any harm that befalls the Kingdom will befall us, and our relations with Qatar have reached a great level, and we appreciate the ruling family, and in Kuwait we also have special respect, and what affects Egypt also affects us, and Egyptian President Sisi is a brother and our relationship is good, despite some differences in visions, and this is normal.”
Paris incites European countries against Algeria
Regarding the crisis with Paris, President Tebboune appeared extremely dissatisfied and disturbed by the French role towards Algeria, especially in the wake of the documentary that Paris allowed to be broadcast on public television (France 2), which included what was considered a personal insult to the president, but he accused Paris of inciting European countries against Algeria, by restricting Algerian products. He said: “There is a consensus in Europe to cooperate with Algeria, minus one (referring to France). Unfortunately, there is a European country that incites against Algeria and Algerian products.”
Tebboune did not pay attention to the statements of French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez a few days ago, who stipulated that Algeria would accept administratively deported migrants, in order to pay a visit to Algeria. Tebboune said: “This concerns him, and it does not concern us. If he wants to come to Algeria, he is welcome,” adding: “We reject the logic of expelling Algerian nationals the way France wants. Putting Algerians on a plane and transporting them to Algeria without enabling them to have their full rights to litigate in France and appeal against their deportation decisions is unacceptable. Whenever France sends them, we will send them back. Let it be clear that whoever wants to insult Algeria was not born by his mother.” At the same time, he praised what he described as the courage and boldness of the former minister and presidential candidate, Ms. Ségolène Royal, who visited Algeria a week ago.
Regarding the settlement procedures for Algerian youth abroad, the President explained that every Algerian who made a mistake abroad is interested in returning, and he should not immerse himself in greater mistakes as he cannot live without the consent of that country’s intelligence services. In the same context, he denied that the settlement procedures had anything to do with the mandatory measures to leave French territory that the French authorities impose on Algerian citizens without granting them their full rights.
