The Algerian judiciary opens an economic espionage file against a branch of a French company – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Tomorrow, Monday, the Algerian judiciary will open an investigation into a serious espionage file related to the leaking of sensitive economic information to foreign parties, targeting the branch of a French company, “Orl Amarante Internationale Algeria.”
Branch officials will face the Casablanca Criminal Court of First Instance on charges that include “collecting and delivering information that threatens the national economy.” Investigations that began on March 17, 2024 revealed that the company was operating under the guise of private guarding and security, but it collected detailed reports on the security and economic situation in the country for the benefit of the French parent company, “Amaronet International SAS.”
Among the most notable documented violations are:
Leaked security maps: Assessing security levels in sensitive locations for the purpose of discouraging investment.
Unlicensed devices: Use of secret communication equipment at Houari Boumediene and Oran airports.
Illegal missions: guarding French aircraft, checking luggage, and monitoring major companies such as Alstom and Andra.
Illegal activity: violating the administrative closure decision and illegally changing the subject of the commercial register.
