Arrest of a criminal network that uses “drones” to import drugs from Morocco – New Algeria

The mobile squad of the Judicial Police in Beni Bou Said, affiliated with the security of the state of Tlemcen, was able to carry out a qualitative security operation that resulted in putting an end to the activity of a dangerous criminal group specialized in drug trafficking, which was using drones in its criminal activity.

The security services explained in a statement today, Wednesday, that members of the criminal network were taking advantage of drones to bring quantities of drugs from the western borders of the Kingdom of Morocco towards the western border regions of the country, before transporting them later to a number of internal cities.

This operation came after preparing a solid security plan, which relied on monitoring the movements of the suspects and following them on the ground, until they were arrested in flagrante delicto on board a tourist car and a motorcycle.

According to the statement, the operation resulted in the seizure of drones used in smuggling, along with a quantity of drugs and sums of money from the proceeds of illegal promotion.

The Tlemcen state security services also confirmed at the conclusion of their statement that they remain mobilized day and night to combat organized crime, defeat criminal dens, ensure the security of citizens and protect their property.
