China extends an invitation to an official visit to Russia. Putin agrees

Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov announced that Chinese President Xi Jinping extended an official invitation to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to visit China in the first half of this year, stressing that Putin accepted the invitation with gratitude, and the dates and details will be agreed upon later.
This came after a video conversation that lasted an hour and 25 minutes between the two leaders, which dealt with several international files, most notably Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba, in addition to relations with the United States, where Ushakov confirmed that the views of Russia and China converge to a large extent and that the partnership between the two countries has reached an unprecedented level, without being directed against any party.
Ushakov also noted that Xi Jinping supported the ongoing negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi, and that Putin is ready to participate in the APEC summit in China next November.
The conversation also touched on strategic files, as Putin stressed Russia’s support for the one-China principle, its role as a major supplier of oil and gas to China, in addition to its readiness to work wisely and responsibly within the framework of the New START Treaty to achieve strategic stability, in light of the tensions witnessed in several regions of the world.
The meeting was described as friendly and intimate, and the two leaders concluded with sincere wishes for success and prosperity for their bilateral relations.
