The army achieves qualitative results: two terrorists surrender themselves and massive raids on the crime – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Ministry of National Defense announced on Wednesday the outcome of the weekly operations of the People’s National Army for the period from January 28 to February 3, 2026, which included combating terrorism and organized crime at the level of various military departments.

In the field of combating terrorism, army units eliminated four terrorists in Ain Defla in the First Military Region, and recovered Kalashnikov machine pistols, two hand grenades, ammunition and various equipment. Two terrorists also surrendered themselves to the military authorities in Bordj Badji Mokhtar and En Vazam. They were in possession of a Kalashnikov machine gun, two semi-automatic rifles, ammunition and other equipment, in addition to the arrest of six members of support for terrorist groups during separate operations.

In the fight against organized crime, army detachments arrested 76 drug dealers and thwarted attempts to bring 11 quintals and 38 kg of processed kif across the border with Morocco, and seized 13.28 kg of cocaine and more than 681 million hallucinogenic tablets. 299 people were also arrested, and 29 vehicles, 194 electric generators, 159 hammers and gold prospecting equipment were seized.

The operations also included the arrest of 12 people and the seizure of two machine guns, a Kalashnikov pistol, and two hunting rifles, in addition to 800 liters of fuel intended for smuggling, and 275 illegal immigrants of different nationalities across several regions of the country.
