Gharib also stressed that the main challenge before the consular network is to live up to the level of political will expressed by the President of the Republic, especially with regard to protecting citizens abroad, simplifying administrative procedures, improving the quality of consular services, and accelerating the path of digital transformation, in addition to developing practical solutions that respond to the emerging needs of the community, especially in the economic, cultural and communication fields.
In this context, the Prime Minister called on the heads of consular centers to make every effort to come up with practical recommendations that can be implemented, according to specific time frames, in a way that ensures more effective, quality and efficient consular management, and strengthens the connection of the national community abroad with its motherland, and its effective participation in national development paths.
The opening ceremony began with a welcome speech delivered by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the national community abroad, Sufyan Chayeb, in which he explained that the work of this symposium, which takes place over three days, through specialized workshops, with the participation of 43 heads of consular posts, including consuls general and consuls, in addition to the heads of consular departments in the diplomatic representations, constitutes an important station for evaluating consular performance and studying ways to enhance it, within the framework of a participatory approach that includes several sectors. Ministerial and national bodies.
