Algeria will protect the community wherever it is and in all circumstances

Algeria affirmed that the national community abroad, an integral part of the nation, is keen to give it the place it deserves within various public policies, in line with its deep connection to the motherland, and will protect it wherever they are and in all circumstances.
Prime Minister Sefi Gharib explained during the official opening of the symposium of heads of consular posts, on Tuesday, commissioned by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, that Algeria attaches a special status to the national community abroad, as it has constitutionally enshrined this by explicitly stipulating the role of the state in protecting citizens abroad and their interests, preserving their identity and dignity, strengthening their ties with the nation, and mobilizing their contribution to the development of their country of origin.
Gharib added that this approach, based on considering the national community abroad an integral part of the nation, reflects the importance that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, attaches to the community abroad, which he places at the core of his interest, whereby strengthening ties between the community and the motherland constituted a compass for the various initiatives taken, as the continuous expansion of the network of consular representations during recent years is the best evidence of this care, in addition to the various practical measures taken for the benefit of citizens residing abroad.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the bet before the consular networks is the constant and diligent effort to live up to the strong will expressed by the President of the Republic on many occasions, who was keen to communicate directly with members of the community during his official visits abroad, which reflects the stability and continuity of commitment towards this segment.
Saifi Gharib added that the government is keen to give the national community abroad the place it deserves within various public policies, in line with its deep connection to the motherland and within the framework of its keenness to continuously respond to its various aspirations and interests. Therefore, holding this symposium constitutes a favorable opportunity to emphasize the important role that diplomatic and consular representations should play, as the official interface of the state abroad, in continuing to raise the efficiency of their performance, in line with the state’s efforts aimed at Modernizing administration and public facilities, simplifying the services provided to citizens, and constantly raising their quality.
The same speaker also stressed the state’s keenness to take optimal care of the national community residing abroad, protect it, and always listen to its concerns. Achieving this goal requires continuing to support the role of the diplomatic and consular network in developing its working methods in order to carry out the tasks assigned to it towards this important segment of Algerian society.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to ensure the strengthening and consolidation of the principle of protecting citizens abroad wherever they are and in all circumstances, preserving their interests and strengthening their ties with their home country, continuing the process of simplifying administrative procedures, ensuring the provision of quality consular services for the benefit of our citizens residing abroad, and ensuring that consular management is adapted to the various administrative transformations experienced by the national community abroad.
Seifi Gharib also pointed out the necessity of strengthening the path of digital transformation of consular services, as it is a fundamental pillar for reforming the consular system, anticipating and formulating practical solutions that respond to the emerging needs of our community abroad, especially in the economic and cultural field, as well as in the field of communication.
The Prime Minister stated that achieving tangible results on the goals constitutes an urgent necessity that falls within the government’s commitment to embodying the directives of the President of the Republic, by adopting innovative approaches and modern methods to optimally address the community’s concerns and respond to its aspirations, strengthen its connection with the nation, and effectively involve it in various paths of national development.
Saifi Gharib highlighted that the role of consular centers should not be limited to merely providing some administrative services, despite their importance, but rather should include other no less important issues posed by the reality in which we live today due to the worsening phenomena of Islamophobia, racial discrimination, and identity confusion, stressing the preservation of the dignity of members of the national community, standing by their side in the face of discrimination, raising the image of the immigrant, and ensuring recognition of his contribution at all levels.
