Masolin joins Inter

The Italian club Inter announced, on Monday, that it had signed Franco-Algerian player Yannis Massoulin, with a contract extending until 2030.

Massolin will continue with his team, Modena, competing in the Italian Second Division, on loan until the end of the season.

The Foot Mercato website set the price of the deal at about four million euros.

Yannis comes from a family with Martinican-Spanish origins on his father’s side and Algerian on his mother’s side.

His father, Richard Massoulin, played professional football, playing for well-known clubs in France such as Nimes and Paris FC.

Yannis was born in France in 2002, and began his football career with his hometown club, the Sports Association of Moulins.

He then had several experiences in France, Switzerland, and Belgium, most notably with Clermont Foot.

He landed in Italy at the beginning of the current season, and in just six months he succeeded in convincing the officials of an ancient club like Inter.

Italian coach Andrea Sottile did not give the new recruit his chance until the eighth round, when he participated as a substitute in the match that ended in a positive draw against Palermo.

Masolin was able to show his talent during the last two months, after coach Sutil began to rely on him as a starter during eight consecutive matches.

The player left his mark on these dates, as he scored a goal and provided two assists.

At the international level, Giannis did not receive any call-ups to represent the French national team in the youth categories.

The Algerian Football Federation has the opportunity to include him in the national team in the future in light of the rapid development witnessed by his professional career.
