Abdali chooses Olympique Marseille

Algerian midfielder Haimad Abdali was confirmed to have joined the ranks of Olympique Marseille on Monday, after he appeared at the club’s headquarters carrying the blue and white scarf.
The international player joined Marseille from Angie, which is also active in the First Division.
The club is expected to officially announce the deal and its details this evening.
In his speech to the supporters who were receiving him, Abdali revealed his preference for Olympique Marseille’s offer over other teams.

The Foot Africa website reported that the Desert Warrior cost the treasury of Olympique Marseille three million euros.
The Algerian’s transfer to one of the most prestigious “Ligue 1” clubs is a big step in his sporting career, which started from the formation center of the Le Havre club, active in the second division.
The 25-year-old attracted the attention of elite clubs in France for the first time after being promoted to the first team of Le Havre in January 2019.
Angie Club, owned by Algerian businessman Said Shaaban, succeeded in signing him in the summer of 2022.
Abdali’s level developed with the successive seasons, as his talent was refined and he gained great maturity to be given the captain’s badge at Anji Club.
The player played 119 matches for Anji in the first and second divisions, during which he scored 20 goals and provided six assists.
At the international level, Haimad participated in eight matches with the Greens, the last of which was against Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The midfielder received his first call-up to the national team in 2023, by former coach Djamel Belmadi.
