The Palestinian Resistance Movement “Hamas” announced today, Monday, the completion of all arrangements to hand over authority in the Gaza Strip to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza.
The movement’s spokesman, Hazem Qassem, said in a press statement, “All the necessary procedures and arrangements with the governmental and administrative authorities in the Gaza Strip have been completed to hand over all powers and capabilities to the Independent National Committee for Managing the Strip.”
He added that “the committee, upon entering Gaza, will begin the handover process in a transparent and comprehensive manner and in all fields,” noting that there is a higher committee supervising the process, which includes Palestinian factions, tribal entities, and leaders from civil society, in addition to figures representing international institutions.
Qasim stressed that the handover process will be transparent, complete and sophisticated, calling on all parties to facilitate the work of the committee to ensure that the sector begins to recover after a two-year war that led to severe damage.
The National Committee for Gaza Administration consists of 11 Palestinian figures, headed by Ali Shaath, and is a non-political body responsible for managing daily civil service affairs, to ensure stable and effective management of the Strip during the transitional phase.
